A Look at Kids Classic Halloween Costumes

With this year’s Halloween only weeks away now, the buying spree for suitable costumes for the kids trick or treat is hotting up and will soon reach fever pitch. At that point, many stores will begin to sell out of the best costumes and that will mean some disappointed faces when they learn that they will have to make do with their second, third or even fourth choice outfits for the event!

The idea is really to get in early to make sure you get the pick of the crop and get the outfits that you and the kids actually want to be wearing on the 31st. So what is everybody going crazy for this year?

Well, surprisingly enough, it seems the traditional themes are back in fashion in the most part with kids classic Halloween costumes being very big and very much in demand this time around. That means old classics like zombies, werewolves, vampires and other “monsters” are the cool thing to be seen as, while some other cool ideas include the zombie hunter and vampire slayer costumes for boys and girls respectively. So Buffy is still popular, thanks to cable TV, it seems!

Whatever you decide to wear this year for trick or treat, there are some really stunning costumes that are on sale in the stores and online and the prices are actually really good, with nothing coming up too expensive for most budgets. Of course, the adults get to wear even more sophisticated outfits for their fancy dress parties that get going after the kids are all home and tucked up safely in bed. But that’s for another post!

As for the kids, they are going to have a great time dressed up in some of the best looking Halloween costumes ever thanks to some great modern materials as well as the makeup and accessories that go with the basic costumes to really make them look lifelike and in some cases as scary as you could imagine! So get online and check out the prices and scan through the catalogs to see what is available and make sure you order as early as you can to save disappointment by missing out if the store sells out if the kind of outfit your kids really want.

One of the great sides of Halloween Costumes is the dressing up and creating a truly inspirational character with a great costume and topped off with some creative makeup. So let’s take a look at some great Halloween makeup ideas and see just what we can come up with here.

Its usually the kids that want the making up ready for when they go out on trick or treat. They’ll want to be wearing their spookiest and most lifelike costumes to go along with some really blood curdling face makeup to hopefully scare the pants off the little old lady who lives down the street!

So there are plenty of great ideas for what to use in the way of Halloween makeup for creating the most gory and creepy looking faces. The deepest carmine reds for lips that hint at dripping with vampire blood, along with the coldest whites for the skin, black eye makeup to enhance the eyes and eyebrow thickener to get the meanest eyebrows on the block!

Now you can go for the full, double-take alien look by popping in some really cool colored contact lenses, although mom’s may be a little unsure of whether to allow younger kids to do that. Its probably best reserved for the older kids in their teens who can really go to town and put the frights into some of the neighbors by coupling the Gothic black and white makeup with jet black wigs and outfits that would scare the living daylights out of a all-in wrestler!

When it comes to getting made up to compete with friends over who can look the scariest, let your creativity flow and go with what looks best. You can always go back and alter anything that doesn’t work, but just make sure you use Halloween makeup that you can get off as easily as you can put on!
